The Hairdressers’ Disco Ball & Fantasy Hair Show was conceived by Carla Ramos, a 35-year veteran of the beauty industry. Her inspiration came from L’Oreal’s Hairdressers Against AIDS campaign, and she contacted a number of salons where she had connections over the years to participate in a wild and wacky hair show. Last year’s event raised more than $10,000 for ARCS and drew a sell-out crowd of over 300 people. By moving to Shadows for our second year we hope to serve our guests better and create a magical evening of fun, awe and creativity for the Hudson Valley. For more information and to get involved as a volunteer behind the scenes, call (914) 785-8326 or contact ARCS.
ARCS’ J. Dewey invites Chef Derek Smith to our offices with a challenge: create gourmet hors d’oeuvre for our Dining Out for Life kick-off using only ingredients commonly found in our emergency food closets.
