Crystal Meth use continues to be a major health threat to MSM in New York State. This 2-day course will increase knowledge of crystal meth use among MSM, describe how use impacts risk for HIV infection, discuss harm reduction strategies as well as share a sample assessment tool. Relevant resources will also be discussed.
This course is CASAC/CPP/CPS approved for 13.0 Credit Hours

Do you identify as an LGBTQ person of color between the ages of 25 to 55? Do you live and/or work in New Rochelle, Pelham, or Mount Vernon? If so, we want to hear about your experiences being LGBTQ in Westchester County!
WHAT: An hour-long focus group discussion about being LGBTQ in Westchester county
WHERE: Mt. Vernon (location provided upon RSVP)
WHEN: Wednesday, December 6 at 6pm
WHY: To help local LGBTQ organizations better meet your needs
$25 gift cards and food will be provided!
The LOFT, Center Lane and the Westchester Community Foundation are conducting an LGBTQ needs assessment to learn more what it’s like being LGBTQ in Westchester County, including a series of focus groups to hear directly from LGBTQ community members. Findings will be used to expand and improve services to better meet community needs. Join the discussion and share your thoughts on what’s working in Westchester, what needs to change, and how can we make this county more LGBTQ-inclusive.

Back for its 9th year, the Queen City Pride BYO summer community picnic starts at 5pm and promises a memorable family-friendly afternoon packed with live music, drag performances, games and dancing. What are you waiting for? Now is the time to start planning for the most fabulous picnic of the summer!
BYO Picnic
Ready your favorite blankets and pack up your basket for the most fabulous picnic of the summer. Creativity, uniqueness, noms and tastiness are all encouraged as you set up the ultimate al fresco spread. As always this event is 100% BYO. We will not have a bar or food vendors set up on site, so be sure to pack everything you’d like to enjoy. Alcoholic beverages are permitted (and encouraged) for those 21 and over. Small, tabletop propane barbecues and sterno warmers are permitted, otherwise no open flames, please.
The entire family is invited to join, please just keep any dogs on leashes and be a considerate neighbor and clean up after your pet.

The Hudson Valley LGBTQ Community Center has selected best-selling author and LGBT activist Tim Murphy as Grand Marshal for the Pride March and Festival in New Paltz, taking place on Sunday, June 4. The March and Festival are the centerpiece of a month of special cultural and social events organized and sponsored by the Center.

As part of the Governor’s plan to end the AIDS epidemic in New York State, the Department of Health’s AIDS Institute is pleased to announce a free statewide HIV Home Test Giveaway. This is an innovative strategy to address a gap in HIV testing among gay men, men who have sex with men (MSM), and transgender or gender non-conforming people who have sex with men. The AI, in collaboration with New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and OraSure, the manufacturer of OraQuick® in-home HIV test, are making home HIV test kits available to eligible recipients now through July 7, 2017.
To be eligible to receive a free home test kit, participants must meet the following criteria: identify as a gay man; MSM; transgender or gender non-conforming person who has sex with men; be at least 18 years of age; reside in NYS (excluding NYC); and have never been diagnosed with HIV. If the participant is determined to be eligible, they will be asked to provide their email address where they will receive a discount code and instructions for redeeming a free HIV home test kit via OraSure’s website. Upon completion of the follow-up survey, participants will have the option to
receive a $20 electronic Amazon gift card. If the participant is determined to be ineligible, they will be referred to the AI website where there will be additional resources and information related to HIV testing.
