Monday, March 17th, 2014Drag Brunch 2014 Sells Out
Monday, March 17th, 2014Hi folks – we’re glad (and sad) to say that the third Drag Brunch at Gunk Haus on April 6th is now fully booked, with 85 people signed up to attend! Thanks to everyone who made their reservations with Dirk at the Gunk Haus, and we’re thrilled that everyone is so excited to see the antics of Trixie Starr, JoJo Gerard, Lilly Sa’Vage and Miss Pattie Lee.
However, we don’t like having to turn anyone away. If you missed snagging a reservation, you can add yourself to our waiting list by calling (914) 785-8277 or emailing us. If we receive any cancellations, we’ll fill them from the waiting list on a first-come, first-serve basis depending on the size of your party. (For example, if a party of 2 cancels, we’ll notify the next party of 2 on our list. If a party of 4 cancels, and the next 2 people on the waiting list ask for a party of 2, we’ll offer them the spots.) We will contact you if we have space for you by Saturday, April 5th at 5 pm.
Or, you can call Gunk Haus the morning of April 6 to check on availability.
Thank you for your support! All proceeds from the Drag Brunch support the Hudson Valley AIDS Walk, which happens on the Walkway Over the Hudson on Saturday, May 17th.

Ulster Co. Pre-Registration Party for Hudson Valley AIDS Walk Cancelled
Thursday, May 5th, 2011Unfortunately, some facilities issues at Gunk Haus in Clintondale have forced us to cancel our pre-registration party for the Hudson Valley AIDS Walk tonight Thursday May 5, 2011. Walkers may register in person at the Walkway Over the Hudson’s Highland entrance on Saturday, May 7th beginning at 10:00 am instead. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please call (914) 785-8326 with any issues or questions regarding the AIDS Walk on Saturday.
Night Out at the Museum: New Videos Online!
Friday, April 15th, 2011BigGayHudsonValley.com threw a “Night Out at the Museum” on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Frances Lehman-Loeb Art Center on the campus of Vassar College in Poughkeepsie to celebrate their re-opening after renovations, and to raise awareness for the upcoming Hudson Valley AIDS Walk on May 7th. Babycakes Cafe (a Dining Out for Life participating restaurant) provided an array of fruits and cheese, while on-campus acapella group the Vastards performed their gleeful renditions of pop hits. Nicole Roylance, Coordinator of Public Education and Information for the Frances Lehman-Loeb Art Center, took a few moments to talk with us about the Center’s Keith Haring silkscreens. Nicole kindly loaded their Keith Haring silkscreen works onto a digital display, due to the size of each silkscreen, to bring a greater sense of connection to the AIDS Walk for this one night. In this short video, she shares the connection now forged between the Lehman-Loeb Art Center and ARCS.

Photos from Drag Brunch at Gunk Haus
Monday, April 11th, 2011
Guests enjoyed delicious brunch fare like this fruit-topped waffle.
Our sold-out Drag Brunch took place at Gunk Haus restaurant in Clintondale, NY on Sunday, April 10, 2011. Over 75 guests enjoyed classic brunch entrees with a German twist while DJ John Martin from Superior Sounds provided upbeat music. Hudson Valley “girl about town” Trixie Starr served as our hostess, and JoJo Gerard reinterpreted classic songs from yesteryear. The Gunk Haus staff kept on their toes (in lederhosen and kilts, no less) and helped us raise approximately $1,000 for ARCS’ programs and services. Funds will go toward the Hudson Valley AIDS Walk on May 7th.
We are grateful to our volunteers and donors: Dirk and Elizabeth from Gunk Haus, Trixie Starr, JoJo Gerard, John Martin, Marquis Evans, Jana Fernandes, Ellen Maher, Eclectic Studios Hair Salon, the Hotel Sierra, Lydia Higginson, Verizon, Dick Wilde, BigGayHudsonValley.com, Billiam van Roestenberg, and everyone who attended this fantastic, fun event.

With music direction by Jon Breitenbach.
ARCS will be there at 7 pm, but Chill opens at 5 pm
Show Begins at 8PM
$20 Suggested Donation at the door
All proceeds go to benefit the 2011 Hudson Valley AIDS Walk and ARCS.
