Blacklight Zombie Bowl-A-Rama + Dance Party
Tuesday, October 14th, 2014The undead have risen and they’re ready to strike! Well…to throw a strike, anyway.
Big Gay Hudson Valley is spending Halloween at Mardi-Bob (Hoebowl) Lanes as we take over the place for a zombie-themed Bowl-A-Rama and dance party on Halloween night.
Doors to the bar/dance floor open at 8p and the Blacklight Bowl-A-Rama commences at 9:30p. DJs Prephab will be serving up spooky Halloween beats from the bar and Trixie Starr will stare deep into your future as her crystal (bowling) ball conjures up your fortune.
Costume contest info to come, so start brainstorming your best zombie chic look.

Hung With Care Returns
Wednesday, October 1st, 2014Mark Your Calendars, Ladies & Gentlemen! HUNG With Care is coming back to Poughkeepsie for the 2014 Holiday Season!
Two years ago more than 25o of you sold out the Cunneen-Hackett Center for the Performing Arts the weekend before the Christmas for a decadent celebration that combined many of your holiday favorites and along with New York’s hottest male and female burlesque sensations – and this year they’re doing it again on Saturday, December 20th at 8:30p!
Whether you’ve been Naughty or Nice, Big Gay Hudson Valley has something special for you this Holiday season – and they’re bringing back your favorites!
Following the show, everyone is welcome to join the Hung With Care after-party at the Mill House Brewing Company in downtown Poughkeepsie at 10:30p. Go Go Gadget will serve as DJ up on the third floor, and the rest of the cast will be there to spread some holiday cheer in the lounge on the second floor lounge.
The After-Party
Following the performance, join Big Gay Hudson Valley and the entire HUNG With Care cast for the after-party at Mill House Brewing Company in downtown Poughkeepsie. Spread some holiday cheer in the second floor lounge or shake it off to the tunes of DJ Go Go Gadget on the third level dance floor.
The after-party will start around 10:30p. Admission is free for show ticket holders. Admission for non-ticket holders is $10.
Out on the Farm: A BGHV Event
Thursday, September 4th, 2014One of the greatest parts about life in the Hudson Valley is the number of fabulous local farms we have right in our own backyard. BigGayHudsonValley.com decided that it was just about time to dedicate a night to spending some time “Out on the Farm”. While you’re thinking about a fall get-a-way, make Out On The Farm the centerpiece of your weekend and think about visiting an assortment of wineries, distilleries, maple syrup, or cheese makers that are right here in beautiful Dutchess County!
Mark your calendar for Sunday Oct. 5th as Big Gay Hudson Valley presents our first ever night “Out on the Farm” at Sprout Creek Farm in Poughkeepsie. We’ve got an ‘udderly’ fabulous night in the works at one of the nation’s best new cheese makers and everyone is invited.
We’re still pulling all of the details together, but this BYOB event will include:
- Dinner as prepared by the Chef at Sprout Creek Farm
- Music and dancing by DJs Booksmrt, Prephab & Superior Sounds
- Haaaaaaaay! Rides
- Campfire (bring your fixins for S’Mores!)
- Lots of Farm Animals
- Plenty of FREE Parking

BGHV’s Sundae Fundae Pool Party
Tuesday, August 19th, 2014Join Big Gay Hudson Valley on Sunday, August 24th for an end-of-summer Sundae Funday Pool Party at the spectacular St. Hubert’s Lodge in Marlboro from 3pm to 7pm.
Just a 15 minute ride from the Mid-Hudson Bridge, St. Hubert’s Lodge features a heated pool, outdoor fireplace, beautiful patio, and lots of sprawling lawn space. Pack your swimsuit and towel, lawn blanket, and a picnic basket for this BYOB summer celebration.
Admission for this event is $10 (pre-registration is required – see the ticket order form below) and includes beats by the DJ Booksmrt, use of the pool, and a sundae from the Adirondack Creamery Sundae Funday Bar.
Rain date for this event will be Sunday September 7th.
