Hudson Valley Community Services offers free, confidential sexually transmitted disease (STD) testing for all. We’re here to empower people to take charge of their sexual health and make informed decisions. We offer tests for gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, HIV and Hepatitis C.
We test your urine for gonorrhea and chlamydia. It takes between two to seven days to get the results back.
We draw blood from your arm for the syphilis test, and, again, it takes about two to seven days to get your results.
HIV and Hepatitis C tests are both rapid tests using a finger stick (we prick your finger and use just a small drop of blood). It takes 20 minutes for the technology to process the specimen.
All of our testers are trained phlebotomists and have lots of experience with testing and delivering results in a supportive, caring manner.
All STD testing is offered free of charge thanks in part to funding from the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute.
We also offer referrals to any and all health or social services you may require, including referrals for PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis), PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis), HIV testing, sexual health education and personalized risk reduction planning, and medical services. Services and referrals are provided by HVCS’ Peer Health Alliance (for young men ages 13-29 who have sex with men), Men’s Services Program (for men who have sex with men, ages 24 and up), or Women’s Services Program.
