WIGSTICKS – FAIRY TALES COMING TO THE MILFORD THEATRE
The Upper Delaware GLBT Center (UDGLBT) is delighted to announce WIGSTICKS—Fairy Tales, a Drag Show feature at The Historic Milford Theatre (114 E. Catherine Street) on Saturday, May 19, 2012. The show will again feature the illustrious Steady Mess and her wonderful troupe of performers.
This year there will be two performances. The afternoon show, at 3pm, is a drag comedy show for teens (ages 14 +), parents, teachers and anyone who works with and cares about youth. It’s a fun and entertaining way to show support for diversity acceptance and to increase the understanding of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (GLBTQ) youth. Following this show there will be a Q&A session with professionals who work with GLBTQ youth as well as the talented performers. Proceeds from this performance will benefit Safe Haven’s RYOT (Rallying Youth Organizers Together) program and the UDGLBT’s P3 (People Promoting Pride) youth group.
The evening show, at 9pm, is an adult oriented (18+) show followed by a dance party at the Tom Quick Inn. Proceeds are to benefit the UDGLBT’s work in providing support and empowerment to the GLBTQ community and well as promoting acceptance.
The 2011 WIGSTICKS was a huge success – filling all 300 seats at the Milford Theatre. It brought the GLBTQ community and their supportive friends together for an evening of great fun and camaraderie.
Advance tickets for the afternoon show are $10 and can be purchased online ONLY at www.wigsticks.org or http://udglbtcenter.blogspot.com or at the ticket window at the theatre up to 60 minutes prior to the performance.
Advance tickets for the evening performance are $20 and can be purchased at www.wigsticks.org or http://udglbtcenter.blogspot.com. Tickets are also available at The Forklift Café, South of 01 on Route 739, Dingmans Ferry, PA, Upriver Home, 202 Broad St., Milford, PA and at the Upfront Exhibition Space, 31 Jersey Ave, Port Jervis, NY. In addition to our general seating, an exclusive VIP Evening ticket is available only online which includes pre-show cocktails hosted by The Phoenix (322 Broad Street, Milford, across from Hotel Fauchère), entrance to the evening performance with preferred seating, and entrance to the post-show dance at Tom Quick Inn.
