Emily’s Pantry Nutrition Program
Emily’s Pantry is dedicated to improving and enhancing the nutritional needs of HIV positive individuals and families. We work with clients in Dutchess, Orange, Sullivan, or Ulster* to instill a commitment to making healthy and nutritious choices. The program aims to assist clients in developing their skills and increase their knowledge about nutrition and health. The goal is ultimately to enhance the clients’ ability to be nutritionally self-sufficient.
Individuals who are HIV positive and their dependent children may qualify for this program if they are currently receiving inadequate nutrition. A screening with the Nutritional Coordinator will be conducted to make a full assessment of a client’s nutritional needs. Once clients are determined eligible for the program, they will have the opportunity to attend educational workshops with a State Certified Nutritionist and with the Nutritional Coordinator.
To qualify for this comprehensive nutrition program a client must:
- Provide proof of being HIV positive.
- Be currently receiving inadequate nutrition.
- Be income eligible:
if single, under $17K per year,
if two people under $35K,
if three or more under $40K. - Be a resident of Dutchess, Orange, Sullivan or Ulster County, New York.*
- Be willing to agree to program guidelines.
Emily’s Pantry is named in memory of Emily Henry.
