Donate to HVCS
Your support helps us change the lives of our clients. Many of our clients face life challenging illness. Many have difficulty putting food on the table. Sadly, many struggle with substance use issues. All of them need assistance. When you donate to HVCS, our clients get the help they so desperately need.

Ways To Help
You can help us put an end to new HIV infections, more opioid and other drug use (and overdoses), and help your neighbors get the nutrition they need to stay healthy. Here’s how you can get involved.

- Make a personal donation (see above)
- Host a third-party fundraising event to collect funds and raise awareness
- Consider leaving a lasting gift to HVCS in your estate plan
- Attend one of our special fundraising events

- Organize a food, toiletry or household cleanser drive for our emergency food closets
- Volunteer at one of our special events or join an event planning committee
Donate by Mail
While HVCS’ programs are partially supported by federal and state grants, we rely on donations from individuals, foundations, corporations and local businesses, and funding from special events. Financial and in-kind private donations and grants are vital in meeting our clients’ constantly changing needs and prevent further spread of HIV/AIDS.
HVCS is registered under the legal name of Hudson Valley Community Services, Inc. as a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation with the State of New York Office of Charities Registration. All contributions are deductible to the full extent of the law.

If you have any questions, please contact J. Dewey at (845) 787-1789.
Our Development staff will work with you to discuss the various giving opportunities, including special gifts and directed gifts. HVCS works with estate planning professionals in order to assist you in making gifts through charitable remainder annuity trusts, unitrusts, charitable lead trusts, donations of property or stock, bequests, and other vehicles that provide financial benefits to both HVCS and you or your family.
Food Closets
HVCS operates food closets in all our offices. This service is free of charge to our clients. We rely heavily on your donations. We can always use financial donations, food items and toiletry items.
Household basics like shampoo, deodorant, soap, lotions, feminine hygiene products, laundry detergent, cleaning products, and paper goods are often too expensive for our clients, and are not as easy for HVCS to acquire at local food banks. Donations of these items in addition to non-perishable foods are needed most. Check out our wishlist of commonly requested items.
While HVCS does not accept donations of clothing, furniture, or household items, we encourage you to donate these items to other local non-profit agencies.
If you’re looking to donate clothes in Dutchess County, please consider giving them to Dutchess Outreach at 29 North Hamilton Street in Poughkeepsie. Their contact number is (845) 454-3792.
Please call J. Dewey at (845) 787-1789 to make a donation or make an inquiry about food closet needs. You may also contact your local HVCS office to schedule a donation drop-off time.
